Event Herder is the outcome of a self-organizing community project. Over 80 local entrepreneurs, technologists, business people, marketers, and local advocates gathered in downtown Bloomington in February 2008 for a three-day sprint to create a new startup company from scratch.
The founders pitched ideas, made decisions as a unit, and worked for 54 hours to launch an initial product. In doing so, Bloomington became the fifteenth international city to host a Startup Weekend event, dating back to July 2007.
